The Captivate on AT&T is the first Galaxy S smartphone to hit the United States. What’ hot about the Galaxy S series of smartphones is the super fast Hummingbird platform couples with the brilliant Super AMOLED display, which promises great outdoor visibility.

Beyond that the Captivate has 512MB of RAM for multitasking, 16GB of internal storage (you can expand this up to 48GB with a 32GB microSD card), a 1500mAh battery. The screen is larger than the iPhone, Nexus One, and Droid Incredible at 4.0″, with 800×480 resolution. The display supports multitouch. The Captivate is running on Android 2.1, but an update to 2.2 is expected last this year.
