You may have recently heard about the secret Galaxy S Android desktop syncing software. It sounds like it could be pretty good sync solution. It certainly seems to be more feature-rich than the other sync options, and I especially like the text message archiving/printing features. We took it for a test drive with the Vibrant, and here’ how it went.

We get especially giddy when we get to compare two flagship devices on the same carrier, so imagine our excitement when the Captivate for AT&T showed up at our offices. We’ve already unboxed it, and teased this matchup in our screen overview (Super AMOLED vs. Retina Display), now it’ time to get to the fight. The Captivate on AT&T is the first Galaxy S smartphone to hit the United States. What’ hot about the Galaxy S series of smartphones is the super fast Hummingbird platform couples with the brilliant Super AMOLED display, which promises great outdoor visibility.

Beyond that the Captivate has 512MB of RAM for multitasking, 16GB of internal storage (you can expand this up to 48GB with a 32GB microSD card), a 1500mAh battery. The screen is larger than the , Nexus One, and Droid Incredible at 4.0″, with 800×480 resolution. The display supports multitouch. The Captivate is running on Android 2.1, but an update to 2.2 is expected last this year.
